Grief Aware Course

Grief Aware™ is our free five-session bereavement support course.

The course runs three times a year at different venues across Peterborough and is designed to be an opportunity to explore what grief is and how it finds expression.

The sessions run for five consecutive weeks and each session lasts an hour and a half.

The sessions are relaxed and informal and are an opportunity to share experiences and to learn from each other in a safe and welcoming environment.

Explore. Reflect. Restore. Remember.

Each of the five sessions follow the same ‘explore, reflect, restore’ format, designed to support you as you remember.

 Explore: over the five weeks we talk about what grief is and think about the purpose of grieving, we look at some theories of grief and consider whether they make sense in reality and we spend some time identifying the varied factors that are all a normal response to Grief.

Reflect: we create space each week for those that wish to share personal experiences and/or for personal reflection about the ideas and concepts presented

Restore: we use our unique ‘Coaching Triangle’ to reflect on how we navigate our own grief journey in a healthy way.

Grief Aware Workshop

We also offer Grief Aware™ as a package to business and organisations who would like to become more grief aware. Our workshops can be tailor made to your needs and run as half day, whole day or a series of sessions. The course can run as a support course for those who are bereaved or are supporting someone who is. It can also be held as a training course with an emphasis on understanding what grief is and how to support those who are grieving. Both courses equip participants to talk more naturally about grief with colleagues and friends whenever a loss of any kind is experienced and promote positive peer support within the workplace.
